Vice-President

Barbra A. Harper began her educational journey with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Lamar University, Beaumont, TX. In 1998, Mrs. Harper began her teaching career with Fort Bend ISD with students who were socially and economically disadvantaged. The perseverance and dedication of Mrs. Harper’s efforts resulted in academic success and achievement. Mrs .Harper obtained her Masters of Arts in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University, Prairie View, TX. She has over 20 years experience with children who are economically, socially disadvantaged, and who exhibit behavioral and mental disabilities.

Clinical Director

Desiree Rosenthal, Board of Director, is a Licensed Professional Counselor and former special education teacher. She studied at Texas Southern University where she acquired her BA in Journalism & graduate degree in counselor education. She is highly trained in eclectic evidenced-based approaches where she incorporates aspects of psychodynamic & cognitive behavioral treatments. Rosenthal has worked with the YES Waiver program where she utilized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to motivate change in children diagnosed with depression, anxiety, ADHD, oppositional defiance, disruptive mood dysregulation, and other emotional/mental health challenges. She also worked with Lamar Consolidated ISD under their PPCD (Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities) and Life Skills programs where she provided instruction in academic, behavior, communication, independent living, social and personal care skills to students with cognitive, behavioral, social/ physical disabilities. Ms. Rosenthal believes that each child is unique with their own gifts, talents, and challenges. Through her multi – modal therapeutic approach she creates individual treatment plans, works alongside each child and family in an effort to start the process of change, set and achieve goals, improve relationships, supporting our future generation on their path to success 

Treasurer

Marchelle Brown Hensley graduated from Texas Southern University with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting, and currently works as a Financial Analyst at The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD, formerly known as MHMRA of Harris County. She has worked in the Non-Profit arena, holding varying positions of authority within the Accounting field, for close to two decades. Along with working in the accounting field she has fully committed to giving back, and began outreach efforts that involved college awareness and college tours for middle and high school kids over a decade ago. She is also very active in the public school arena and currently serves as the Treasurer for Stafford High School JROTC Booster Club. Marchelle resides in Stafford, Texas with her two children Corey and Rainee
